Another gorgeous example of Milanese "Liberty" (aka Art Nouveau): a combination of French-influenced flowing vegetal forms and Viennese-influenced geometric forms...More......This image is yet another grate over the basement areas called "seminterrato" ("semi-buried") because they have only about a yard of the upper ceiling area above ground dedicated to windows for light and air, but, being so accessible, need the safety of grating.
