That corner of Milan was paricularly quiet that day. Contributing factors: that strange phenomenon of "location, location, location" (the perpendicular street at the end of this one is almost always packed because it has little "funky" shops--oh, that word gives my age away, for sure) and literally freezing temps and the threat of snow, which only manifested itself in a couple of teeny isolated hopeful flakes ("Snow! Snow!," I heard some little kids excitedly call out...it was heartwarming). Come to think of it, an acquaintance complained that my pictures rarely have people in them. It's true. Unless the people are far enough away not to be recognizable (except, maybe, by mothers and grandmothers), or have their faces turned, I try not to post those photos in order to avoid problems with the privacy laws in Italy.
